ought, but very few of them take that next important step and actually write a script.
SCREENPLAY DESIGNER
can take you from someone with a great idea to a writer with a finished script quickly and painlessly. The secret is using the power of outlining to make your script flow, feel and read like a movie.
Finish your 1st Drafts faster by outlining the way the pros do, the way that is taught in all the best film schools and screenwriting programs.
If you?re reading this it?s probably because you have a desire to write. The trap that many new screenwriters fall into is that they want to start turning out pages as quickly as possible, and they start the scripting process before they have figured out their story. They get through the first 30-40 pages with no problems, but then they start to slow down or get stuck completely. The reason is that they haven?t taken the time to figure out their story, what to put in and what to leave out.

My Story
Like many of you, I was an aspiring writer. I went to UCLA, read all the books, and climbed my way up to the bottom rungs of the screenwriting ladder, which means that I've had a couple of agents, took a bunch of meetings, came close to selling, but haven't quite made it. What I have done, however, is that I've worked in the biz in a number of different capacities. The most enlightening was being a reader, or story analyst, and also being an agent's assistant. What I learned from those experiences, and meeting lots of writers, was that the successful writers were the ones who knew how to outline well. I've talked with lots of novice screenwriters who don't like to outline because they don't think that it's really writing. Instead of outlining what they do is write a bunch of drafts while trying to figure out their story. What the professionals do is that they figure out their story, and then they write the script. The novice way and the professional way involve the same two sequential steps:
1. FIGURE OUT THE STORY
2. WRITE THE SCRIPT
The big difference is that the pros are able to work much quicker because they don't have to write several drafts of a script to come up with the story. They do that when they're outlining. Now this isn't to say that pros only write one draft of a screenplay, but they write far fewer than the writers who don't outline.
So I created Screenplay Designer to exploit the power of the computer to help me in my writing. One of the main benefits of the program for me is that I have lots of ideas, and it?s much easier for me to keep a database of ideas that I can search through and develop on my computer, than it is to have a bunch of notebooks, or scraps of paper, or even a bunch of different files in a bunch of different directories on my computer.
